Contact your Stanza rep for more details.
The Madrid Stanza continues to meet on the second Tuesday of each month to comment on work-in-progress and discuss other poetry-related topics. As well as our core of Spain-based residents, we welcome poets who are visiting Madrid. Meetings are (mostly) in English.
You can find out more about us and our meetings on our new website: http://madridstanza.co.uk. This is itself a work-in-progress and we hope to add a blog at some point, as well as more links to friends' and members' sites.
Three of our members who read at A poetry recital on Book Day in May 2014. Left to Right: David Leslie Urion, Margaret Rowland and John Edwards.
We meet on the second and fourth Friday of each month. It is a supportive group, able and willing to give and receive feedback - a valuable commodity. Our next meeting is Friday 30th May in San Javier.
May 2014 update: There is much going on within the group. We have taken part in a recital on Book Day with The Official Language School in San Javier where Spanish adult students bravely read British First World War poetry. Two of them came to our last workshop. Some of our members are also attending a workshop with the Alicante, Murcia & Valencia Stanza given by Ann Sansom. In addition David L Urion has had published 'In Praise of Rails' and Douglas Hill is publishing a poetry collection entitled a 'Stream of Conscience'.
