The Poetry Society was founded in 1909 to 'promote "a more general recognition and appreciation of poetry". Since then, it has grown into one of Britain's most dynamic arts organisations, representing British poetry both nationally and internationally. Today it has nearly 4000 members worldwide. The Constitution of the Poetry Society was set up in 1923 and updated in 2005 to accommodate changes in Company and Charity legislation. It takes the normal form of a Memorandum and Articles of Association. A copy is held by the Charity Commission and it is also available here.
